Leadership Development Programs
Introduction
At In Bloom, we believe leadership is not just about managing tasks. It’s about leading people with clarity, care, and courage. Great leaders know how to set direction, bring out the best in others, and handle pressure without burning out. That’s what our leadership development programs are designed to achieve.
We bring together leadership skills, wellbeing, and resilience in one system. This unique mix helps managers perform well and stay well. It also helps organisations build cultures where people can thrive. Whether you are growing first-time managers or strengthening experienced leaders, our programs meet you where you are.
Our training is practical, simple, and human. We don’t overcomplicate things. We give people the tools they can use straight away at work. Leaders leave with new habits, not just ideas. (Think less theory, more “how to get sh*t done.”)
Why Leadership Development Matters
Managers make or break culture. They set the tone for how people feel and perform every day. Yet many managers are promoted without ever receiving the right training. They are left to figure it out themselves. The result: stress, confusion, and teams that don’t reach their potential. Also, way too many awkward and useless team meetings.
Investing in leadership development changes that story. With the right skills, managers learn how to:
Give clear direction without micromanaging
Build trust and psychological safety
Have better conversations about performance and feedback
Support wellbeing and resilience in their teams
Lead through change and pressure
Create habits that sustain performance over time (and maybe reduce the number of emails marked “URGENT”)
When leaders grow, teams grow. And when teams grow, organisations flourish.
What Makes In Bloom Different
Most leadership training focuses on performance. We go further by weaving wellbeing and resilience into leadership development. That means our leaders don’t just perform: they perform in a way that lasts.
Integrated approach. Leadership + wellbeing + resilience in one framework.
Practical skills. Tools and habits leaders can apply immediately.
Evidence-based. Built on proven models of resilience, psychology, and leadership.
Tailored delivery. From one-off workshops to six-month journeys, we shape programs around your needs.
Measured outcomes. Confidence, trust, wellbeing, retention. We track what matters (because “gut feeling” isn’t a KPI).
Program Options
We know every organisation is different. That’s why we offer flexible programs that fit your people and your goals.
1. Leadership Essentials
For new and emerging managers. Build confidence and core leadership skills.
Topics: role clarity, goal setting, one-to-ones, coaching, feedback, delegation, prioritisation, wellbeing basics. (Basically, Manager 101 without the boring textbook.)
2. Resilient Leadership
For established managers. Strengthen the ability to lead under pressure and drive performance through change.
Topics: resilience model, energy and recovery, boundaries, cognitive skills, psychological safety, change leadership.
3. Leading Wellbeing and Safety
For senior leaders. Integrate wellbeing and safety into everyday leadership and organisational culture.
Topics: safe and productive work design, leadership behaviours, risk and responsibility, measuring wellbeing, shaping culture. (Because “we care about wellbeing” looks better when it’s not just a poster in the break room.)
4. Executive Coaching
For senior leaders seeking personal growth, impact, and clarity. One-to-one coaching tailored to leadership challenges and goals.
5. Custom Programs
We design programs around your strategy, values, and ways of working. Together we target the leadership behaviours that will move the needle most in your business.
Training Formats
Our programs are flexible in design and delivery. You can choose:
Workshops: Interactive 90-minute, half-day, or full-day sessions.
Leadership sprints: 6–12 week blended learning journeys that build habits over time.
Offsites: Half-day or full-day immersive sessions for intact teams (yes, the ones with real coffee and not just instant).
One-to-one coaching: Tailored development for individual leaders.
Leadership communities: Peer learning groups that share insights and accountability.
Keynotes: Inspiring sessions to spark momentum at conferences or events.
No matter the format, our sessions are practical, engaging, and designed for real change — not just theory.
Manager Topics We Train On
We cover the essential skills every manager needs. Our content spans leadership, resilience, wellbeing, and culture:
Role clarity and expectations
Setting goals and priorities
Coaching and developing others
Giving and receiving feedback
Running effective one-to-ones
Building trust and psychological safety
Leading through change
Managing workload and recovery
Energy and resilience habits
Handling conflict and difficult conversations (without needing HR on speed dial)
Recognition and motivation
Delegation and accountability
Decision making under pressure
Creating inclusive and safe cultures
Communication skills and presence
Outcomes You Can Expect
When leaders go through our programs, organisations see real change. Not vague promises, but measurable outcomes like:
Managers who lead with clarity and care
Teams that handle pressure without burning out
Higher levels of trust and psychological safety
More effective performance conversations and feedback loops
Improved employee engagement and retention (translation: fewer farewell cakes to buy)
Stronger alignment between wellbeing and business performance
We also encourage companies not to obsess over ROI calculations. In our honest opinion, measuring the ROI of training is not always simple or precise. The value of stronger leadership shows up in culture, trust, and team resilience — things that may not neatly fit into a spreadsheet, but still transform performance.
Typical results include:
15–25% boost in manager confidence within 90 days
10–20% reduction in self-reported stress levels
20–30% increase in quality one-to-ones and feedback cadence
Client Stories
Tech Scale-Up
Challenge: Managers lacked confidence and avoided tough conversations.
Outcome: After a 12-week sprint, manager confidence rose by 22%, and one-to-one meetings became regular across 70% of teams. (Yes, even the ones who swore they “didn’t have time.”)
Global Services Firm
Challenge: Teams struggled with burnout and inconsistent leadership practices.
Outcome: Leaders adopted resilience habits, and stress levels dropped by 18% in six months.
Consumer Brand
Challenge: Team culture felt flat, and wellbeing was reactive instead of proactive.
Outcome: Leaders embedded wellbeing habits into daily routines, lifting engagement and reducing hot spots of rework.
Our Approach
We don’t do cookie-cutter training. Our method is simple and adaptable:
Discover – Understand your goals and challenges with a short diagnostic.
Design – Shape a targeted learning plan with clear outcomes.
Deliver – Run engaging sessions that stick.
Embed – Provide toolkits, nudges, and rhythms that make habits last.
Measure – Track progress with baseline, pulse, and endline markers. (Because what gets measured gets managed — and no, that wasn’t Peter Drucker calling, it’s just us.)
Our frameworks include:
Resilient Leadership Model – Energy, mindset, connection, purpose
Manager Habits System – One-to-ones, feedback, goals, recognition, recovery
Safety and Wellbeing Integration – Practical behaviours that build trust and performance

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this leadership training or wellbeing training?
Both. Our programs build leadership capability while embedding resilience and wellbeing. Leaders don’t just learn how to manage tasks (that’s not the role anyway, is it?). They learn how to manage themselves and support others. We believe performance and wellbeing go hand in hand, and this is what makes growth sustainable.
2. How long do programs run?
It depends on your goals. Some clients choose a one-off workshop to focus on a specific skill. Others commit to six-month pathways to create lasting habits. Shorter formats deliver quick wins, while longer journeys create deep cultural change. We’ll help you decide what’s right for your team.
3. Do you deliver virtually or in person?
Both. We run programs in person across Australia (and NZ too!) and can deliver virtually anywhere in the world. Virtual sessions are designed to be engaging and interactive. No boring slide marathons (don’t even get me started here). In-person sessions allow for deeper connection and practice, and yes, usually better coffee.
4. How do you measure success?
We use simple scorecards that track confidence, behaviour change, and cultural impact. Typically this is done by sending surveys before and surveys after. We try not to overcomplicate the measurements otherwise nothing gets measured. Metrics include manager confidence scores, the quality and frequency of one-to-ones, self-reported stress indicators, retention levels, and qualitative feedback. We avoid complicated ROI spreadsheets, focusing instead on the real shifts that matter to people and culture.
5. Can you customise programs for our organisation?
Absolutely. We align our content with your strategy, values, and language. We also focus on the behaviours that will make the biggest impact in your business. The result is a program that feels like an extension of your culture, not a generic off-the-shelf product.
6. What industries do you work with?
We’ve worked with organisations in technology, finance, professional services, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, and more. Our frameworks are flexible, so whether your team builds software or makes chocolate, we can adapt our programs to your world.
7. Do you work with small companies or only large enterprises?
Both. We’ve supported start-ups with just a handful of managers as well as global brands with thousands of employees. Leadership challenges often look surprisingly similar, no matter the company size.
8. What’s different about In Bloom compared to other training providers?
Most providers focus on skills or performance alone. We integrate wellbeing and resilience into the mix. That means leaders leave not only with skills to perform but also with habits to stay strong under pressure. We also make training practical and enjoyable, because if people enjoy the experience, they actually apply it.
9. Do you offer one-to-one coaching?
Yes. Our coaching supports senior leaders who want clarity, presence, and traction. Coaching is confidential, focused, and tailored to the leader’s specific challenges and goals. Think of it as having a sounding board, accountability partner, and strategy guide rolled into one.
10. How soon can we start?
We can usually start within weeks. Once we agree on outcomes, we design a program that fits your timeline and priorities. Quick workshops can be scheduled fast, while longer pathways may need a little more planning. Either way, we’ll get you moving quickly.
More Questions We Often Hear
Do managers actually enjoy this training?
Yes. We design sessions to be interactive, relevant, and useful. Feedback from participants often mentions that the content is practical, the facilitation style is engaging, and they leave with tools they can use immediately. Many even say it’s the first leadership training they’ve actually enjoyed.
What if our managers are already too busy?
That’s common. We make our sessions short, sharp, and high-impact. Managers can immediately apply what they learn without adding extra work. In fact, the skills they build (like prioritisation and delegation, and simply better communication) often help them reclaim time.
Is this just another “tick-the-box” HR initiative?
No. We focus on outcomes that matter: confidence, culture, trust, and wellbeing. Our programs create measurable shifts in how leaders lead and how teams perform. This is not about ticking a compliance box. It’s about building stronger leaders and healthier cultures.
Can we trial a program before rolling it out widely?
Yes. Many organisations start with a pilot program for a single team or department. This allows you to see the impact firsthand and build a case for broader rollout. We recommend pilots that engage multiple different teams so we can gather some broad feedback to incorporate into the program (if you actually chose to go ahead that is).
Do you provide materials and resources?
Yes. Every program includes toolkits, templates, and guides that managers can use right away. Examples include one-to-one templates, feedback cheat sheets, resilience playbooks, and conversation starters.
What if our culture isn’t ready for this?
We meet you where you are. If your organisation is just starting to think about leadership development or wellbeing, we’ll begin with simple foundations. If you already have mature systems, we’ll build on them. Change doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Small steps make a big difference. Also, no one is perfectly ready, make a start today.
Is wellbeing really a leadership responsibility?
We believe it is. Leaders don’t have to be therapists, but they do need to create environments where people can thrive. Supporting wellbeing is part of building trust and enabling performance. We give leaders the tools to do this in a simple, practical way.
What if our leaders resist change?
That’s normal. Change is hard, especially for busy managers. Our programs are designed to show the immediate benefits of new behaviours, so leaders see value quickly. We also use peer learning to build accountability and momentum.
